I'm a student in Taipei, and Plyndi is a side project I'm building one destination guide at a time — because most travel content online is either recycled listicles or trying too hard to sell you something before you've even landed.
Why Plyndi exists
I kept running into the same problem planning my own trips: the top search results for "Bangkok guide" or "Bali itinerary" all read like they were written to rank, not to actually help someone standing in the airport figuring out how to get into the city. Same six photos, same vague advice, no real numbers.
Plyndi is my attempt at the opposite — guides that state real prices, real transit routes, and real trade-offs, even when the honest answer is "skip this one, it's not worth your time."
How a guide gets made
Every destination gets properly researched before it's published — transit systems, neighborhood trade-offs, typical costs, and the mistakes first-timers commonly make. Guides carry a "last updated" date, and I go back and correct details (prices, opening hours, closures) as they change rather than leaving old information live indefinitely.
I'm not claiming years of professional travel-writing experience — I'm a student building this alongside my coursework. What I can promise is that nothing gets published without being checked, and the site will always tell you plainly when something is a paid or affiliate link.
How Plyndi makes money
Plyndi uses affiliate links for flights, hotels, and activity bookings — if you book through one, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
